Ossid, a ProMach product brand within the Flexible and Trays business line, started in the 1970s by repairing overwrap machines and evolved into a leading manufacturer of tray overwraps by the 1990s. Our 500E NCL overwrap machine became particularly popular in the poultry industry due to its leak-resistant packaging. Later, we expanded our offerings to include weigh price labeling equipment and custom thermoforming machines, especially for the medical industry.

As packaging trends shifted towards more sustainable options, we partnered with Reepack, a leading manufacturer of food packaging equipment from Italy. This partnership has allowed us to broaden our solutions to include tray sealers, standard thermoformers, vacuum chamber machines, and flow wrapping equipment. Today, Ossid is a single-source supplier for food and medical device packaging, weigh price labeling machines, and case scales. We are located in North Carolina and provide all necessary parts, installation, training, and service. Chad Deaton, Product Line Manager at Ossid, showcases the Re-Eco, our fully automatic tray sealer designed for maximum flexibility and hygiene. The Re-Eco is ideal for most pre-formed trays, including those for MAP (modified atmosphere), VSP (vacuum skin pack), Pro-Skin, and standard lid applications. It features a 1-meter loading zone and can achieve speeds of up to eight cycles per minute. The machine's powered unwind and scrap rewind system ensure consistent tension for better sealing and cutting.

The Re-Eco includes a standard discharge conveyor, with an optional lane converging unit to streamline the outfeed. Its vacuum pump is integrated within the guard to minimize footprint, with vacuum system options up to 100 cubic meters per hour. The user-friendly interface supports over 20 languages and allows for multiple recipes to be saved or loaded via USB.

The machine's pushers drive trays into an electric lift system for smooth and precise chamber movements. Trays are sealed and cut within the tooling, then indexed out by the pushers. The web unwind, dancer arm, and scrap rewind work together to maintain a tight web.
